Why pastel pink starts with bleach
A pastel is a pale, light-filled color. Pink pigment is sheer, so it only shows its true shade on a pale yellow or near-white base. On dark brown or black hair it comes out as a dull dark rose, or barely shows at all. For that reason a pastel pink plan almost always begins with bleach, and for dark hair often with a second round.

- Pink with a gray tint: softer and more urban.
