Four bob lengths to choose from
Bobs are named by where the line lands. Pointing to your own body is more precise than a word like “short” or “medium”.
| Bob type | Where it ends | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Short bob | Jaw or just under the ear | Shows the neck; needs the most frequent shaping |
| Chin-length bob (단발) | At the chin | The classic Korean bob; works with or without bangs |
| Long bob | Between chin and collarbone | Can be tucked behind the ears or tied back |
| Collarbone bob | At the collarbone | Easiest to grow out into a longer style |
Lengths are general guides. The designer adjusts for your neck, jaw and hair texture.
Blunt line or soft line?
A blunt bob has one flat edge. It looks sharp on straight, healthy hair and shows every uneven section, so it suits hair that holds a line well. A soft bob has slightly broken ends or light layers, which hides the line and is more forgiving on wavy or fine hair.
Say which look you want. If you are unsure, ask the designer to describe what your hair will do with each option. Our layered cut page explains the soft version in more detail.
Inward curl, outward flip or straight
Much of how a bob looks comes from the finish, not the cut. In Korea the inward-bending finish known as C-curl (C컬) is common on chin-length bobs: the ends curve under toward the jaw. You can get that shape from a blow-dry or from a perm that holds it. See the C-curl perm page for how the perm version works, or the blowout page for a salon finish.
If your hair flips out on its own, tell the designer. Flips often come from a cowlick or a growth direction at the nape and are worth planning around.

Bob checklist for the chair
- Bring a photo with the back view. A bob’s back length is the part people forget to check.
- Say whether you want the nape cut short and clean or left longer.
- Mention bangs. A bob with or without bangs looks quite different, and the bangs cut page lists the options.
- Tell the designer if you tie your hair back, since very short bobs may not fit in a ponytail.
- Say how thick your hair is; very thick hair may need weight removed so the bob does not triangle outward.
Upkeep
A bob loses its line as hair grows, especially at the nape and around the ears. Many people return every six to eight weeks to keep the edge sharp, but your hair speed and the length you choose change that, and your designer will give a better estimate. Longer bobs tolerate more growth. If you are deciding between bob and a shorter crop, compare with the short hair cut page.

Questions guests ask
How much is a bob cut at WENEED Seomyeon Lotte?
A bob is not priced as its own line on the printed menu. Your designer quotes the price after checking your hair and the length you want, and confirms it before starting.
What is the difference between a bob and a long bob?
A bob usually ends at the jaw or chin. A long bob ends between the chin and the collarbone, so it can be tied back more easily.
Will a bob suit thick or wavy hair?
Often yes, with adjustments. Thick hair may need weight removed, and wavy hair usually looks better with a softer line. Bring a photo and ask the designer to check your hair texture.
Can I get an inward C-curl finish?
Yes, it can come from a blow-dry or from a C-curl perm. The designer explains which fits your hair and how long it will hold.
Is there a bob cut salon near Jeonpo Cafe Street?
